Creating a powerful toolbox for lung disease treatment and prevention

The potential of the data being generated by the LGRC is vast and unprecedented. Using techniques such as genome sequencing, genome-wide association studies, gene expression analysis, and epigenetic analysis (See also, Research Methods), we are collecting an enormous volume of new information about lung disease. Using bioinformatics to integrate this data with the clinical information we have available from patient samples, we can develop a database for use in a variety of future studies conducted by us and other lung disease researchers.

The research tools and huge catalog of information we are producing will advance lung disease research to the next level to fundamentally change how we predict, diagnose, and treat COPD, ILD, including pulmonary fibrosis, and other chronic lung diseases.
